[Indian Current Affairs:741] Current affairs briefing for 29th January, 2009

Hi friends,

In today's briefing:

1. Pranab Mukherjee conducts foreign policy with panache and finesse.  Experience does matter a lot.

2.  Satyam's new CEO and CFO identified; but they may not get those tags.

3.  Proof of travel not required to claim LTC benefits; rules Supreme Court.  This is in the context of taxation.  Whether governments also follow suit and amend their rules is to be seen.

4.  A very good article on political corruption.  It will help you review your viewpoint and may be brush it up a little bit.

5.  Petrol prices reduced.

6.  Serena makes it to the Oz Open finals.

7.  Know anything about John Updike?  Worth knowing.

That's it for today.  Happy reading.
