In today's briefing:

1.  The rupee is rising to all time highs.  Take a look at what it means.

2.  Defence forces are set to vacate the microwave links by March 2009.  They have been using what is called " tropo-scattering" for their communications.  Take a look at what it means.

3.  India is going to get its first ever power exchange.  While looking at it, I take time to explain to you what is meant by UI.  Not because I am working for the power sector now, but because the situation demanded it.

4.  Let's take a look at some retail investor figures for our country.

5.  Ever heard of Gunnar Myrdal?  The Nobel prize winning economist?  Can you name the book written by him concerning Asia?  When did he win the Nobel?

6.  Let's see Joseph Stiglitz's take on why Malaysia is a miracle economy.  I agree with his view fully.

7.  If Alan Greenspan was known for his loquaciousness, let's be so while commenting on his memoirs.

That's all for today.

Happy reading.

Ramakrishna
