Current affairs briefing for 20th May, 2008

Hi friends,

Here goes the link for today:

http://indiancurrentaffairs.blogspot.com/2008/05/20052008.html

Hope you all noticed that I have finally got time to correct the "Listen to this article" feature, that was not working properly in our blogs earlier.

In today's briefing:

1.  Who is the largest producer of cement in the world?  Incidentally they also are the largest producers in India.

2.  A good text-book question.  What is leadership economics?

3.  Does a currency's rise or fall depend on the country's economic fundamentals?  I thought so.  But look at what the noted economist from Aditya Birla group Ajit Ranade says on this.

4.  Vijay Tendulkar is no more.  Something about him.

5.  India is the 2nd largest producer of carbon credits globally.  After China ofcourse.

6.  World Athletics Day meet to be held in Bangalore.

7.  What is a dug-out?  In cricket; that is.  Actually this word/phrase is borrowed from baseball.

That's enough for today.  Happy reading.
