Hi friends,
Here goes our link for today: http://indiancurrentaffairs.blogspot.com/2008/10/11102008.html
In today's briefing:
1. Bloodbath on the stock markets. Is another black Monday waiting to happen?
2. FM announces the Arun Ramanathan panel for suggesting measures on overcoming the present liquidity crisis.
3. But why is India facing a liquidity crunch when its fundamentals did not betray any such crisis?
4. Take a look at what Yashwant Sinha suggests for overcoming the present situation.
5. IBSA summit to take place in Delhi. Remember the grouping?
6. India coolly goes on piling up patent filings. A very good sign. Why? This shows that the country is progressing on the intellectual front and that many companies / entities are making progress on the innovation front.
7. Totally going unnoticed is the ban on smoking in public places. Look at some details for record.
8. Reading The Hindu after a long time (because it is a holiday for me today) I just couldn't stop reading Krishna Iyer. Equally good was the piece from Ramesh Thakur. Both of them are highly recommended for Political Science students for the excellent analysis they carried.
I think that should be enough for today. Because there is nothing much to write home about on the cricket front. Have a good day. Happy reading.
