In today's briefing:

1.  There is a lot of controversy going on about KG basin gas pricing issue.  A read of today's article in ET is a must if you want to understand the issue.  Take a look at it.  I noted some salient facts relating to the gas price issue in Discover It and gave a couple of conclusions.

2.  Ever heard of Bonus stripping?  Dividend stripping?  Let's look at Bonus stripping today.  It is very interesting to know the details.

3.  How many households in India are taking to the equity culture?

4.  If you are asked to reel out a couple of points on why or how the US economy is not faring well, what would you say?  Think about it and then take a look at today's notes.  Compare with what you have thought about.  How close are you?

5.  We covered about East Asian Financial crisis sometime.  Has the world become a better place to live in after the crisis?  Has it learnt its lessons from the crisis?  A distinguished economist and Nobel laureate -- Joseph Stiglitz feels 'NO'.  Take a look at two solid reasons why he feels so.  It is just such points that need to be read, understood and perhaps memorized to answer some GS Mains questions and more importantly in interview.

Though today's notes looks very compact by our standards, it should take you more time to digest what is noted today.  Spend the time; it is worth it.  Your base will be stronger.

Happy reading.

Ramakrishna
