Current affairs briefing for 15th April, 2007.

Hi friends,

Here is today's current affairs link:

And here is the updated quiz link:

http://discover-it.blogspot.com/2006/09/quiz.html

In today's briefing:

1.  Let's recap the sales tax reform agenda.

2.  What is SHCIL?  It's CMD is sacked.  Let's see why.

3.  What do you understand by 'Pole Position' in racing?  Car racing or horse racing?

4.  A qucik recap of India-China border dispute.

5.  Gene mapping in monkeys, chimpanzees and the humans.  Look at how close we are.  I always used to get confused in my degree class when the lecturer uttered the word 'rhesus monkey'.  I was pleasantly surprised that the high sounding scientific name refers to the monkeys that we usually see nowadays in cities and everywhere.

6.  Some tidbits about Galapagos Islands.  Who brought them to fame?  The country they belong to?

7.  Ever heard of "The Pool"?  The movie?

8.  Some tidbits about PC Joshi and Sundarbans.

9.  I think we can also at times do with a bit of gossip; don't we?  Let's gossip a bit about Prince William and his girlfriend.  Something is worth gossipping when somebody is making out with someone or breaking out with someone.

That's all for this holiday folks.

Happy reading.
