Current affairs briefing for 14th April, 2007.

Hi friends,

Here goes today's link:

I have updated the quiz also; take a look at:

http://discover-it.blogspot.com/2006/09/quiz.html

In today's briefing:

1.  As a civil servant when you are asked to come out with some measures at curbing the excise duty evasion, what would you do?  Look at what the government did.  And find out where you stand.

2.  How much do you know about transfer pricing?  Though it may look complicated at first; it is in fact very simple to understand.  Take a look.

3.  Can you name the two bacterial leaf blight resistant varieties of rice that were developed indigenously?

4.  Ever heard of lateral entry into the civil service?  In fact at present also there is some such thing; but very prevalent.  Look at my opinion and what the ET editorial says.

5.  If you are ever asked to proffer reasons about why reform measures fail, you can't do without these sane comments coming from Pradeep Mehta.  Take a look.

That's all for today folks.

Happy reading.

Ramakrishna
