[Indian Current Affairs:849] Current affairs briefing for August 6, 2009

Hi friends,

We are back with our briefing for today: http://indiancurrentaffairs.blogspot.com/2009/08/06082009.html

In today's briefing:

1.  An excellent critique on Right to Education.

2.  The government is contemplating to bring out a comprehensive law on regulating foreign investments.  Remember our notings about various Press Notes in our blogs?  It appears they don't even have legal sanctity.

3.  How is the Indian Railways able to show stellar results over the last couple of years?

4.  Online credit card usage is set to take a dip?

5.  Why the US dollar will not lose its primacy; at least for the present?  A very good opinion from TT Ram Mohan.

6.  Language lessons: accoutrement, nouveau, cat's paw, moggy, cat's whiskers.

That's enough for today.  Happy reading.
