[Indian Current Affairs:844] Current affairs briefing for 31st July, 2009

Hi friends,

Sorry for being irregular in the last ten days.  We were occupied with some other pressing commitments.

In today's briefing:

1.  Why is it inevitable to keep dealing with Pakistan?  In spite of its bad behaviour?  There is perhaps a lesson or two that we should draw even in our personal lives from this kind of a situation.

2.  Expats take a big hit in their salaries and perks.  Jet is even replacing its entire expat workforce.  To reduce costs.

3. STT collections rebound.  Point to the return of the retail investor to the markets.

4.  Govt. PSUs flounder on meeting legal commitments -- in respect of Company Secretaries.

5.  Automobiles powered by urine!

6.  Schumacher returns to Formula One racing.

7.  Language lessons: gravy train; feckless.

That's it for today.  Happy reading.
