[Indian Current Affairs:753] Current affairs briefing for 14th February, 2009

Hi friends,

This is just to confirm that we could not write this mailer during the last couple of days because of tight schedule.

In today's briefing:

1.  We take a look at the Railway Budget highlights.

2.  Do you know the charges against Ms. Mayawati in the DA case?  What does DA stand for btw?

3.  Take a look at the country's fertilizer subsidy bill.  Humungous.

4.  Non food credit grows.  Does it mean that we are pulling ourselves out of a slowdown?

5.  Do you know the name of the organic tea from India that is making international forays?

6.  A relook again at why Pakistan should not fail as a state.  Sometimes, you should pray that your enemy stays healthy.  This is one such situation.

7.  China appears to be pulling out of slowdown.  This is good news for the world economy.

That's it for today.  Happy reading.
