[Indian Current Affairs:759] Current affairs briefing for 27th February, 2009

Hi friends,

First of all, there appears to be some serious problem with Google Groups mailer.  I don't know whether Google noticed it and corrected.  Mails that I am posting to the group are not going through.  They are getting dropped.  Totally clueless as to what should be done.

Should we also keep posting our mails somewhere on the web?  I wonder.

Anyway, I try again to send you today's mail.  Here is our link for today:  http://indiancurrentaffairs.blogspot.com/2009/02/27022009.html

In today's briefing:

1.  Central government employees are given a DA bonanza by the government.

2.  Last session of 14th Lok Sabha held amid mutual admiration by political leaders.

3.  Will the cut in excise duty, revive demand?  Some excerpts from a debate.

4.  US budgets for record deficits.  Their deficit is going to be much larger than our GDP.

5.  India NZ T20 match is currently on.  India restricted to 149 for 6.  NZ is batting.  Let's wish India luck.

That's it for today.  Happy reading.
