Current Affairs briefing for 22nd January, 2007

Hi friends,

Here goes our link for today:

http://indiancurrentaffairs.blogspot.com/2008/01/22012008.html

In today's briefing:

1.  India is courted by the high and the mighty.  And that's cause enough for celebration.

2.  ISRO successfully launches an Israeli satellite.  Can you imagine the political coup that Israel pulled off with this launch?

3.  As retail is growing by leaps and bounds, can fraudsters be far behind?  Let's learn some terminology from fraudsters.

4.  Reading about Dr. Raghuram Rajan is my latest fad.  This Professor who made a great deal of name and fame for himself in international arena, is doing us all Indian proud.  Let's look at some of his views on Indian economy.  Worth watching.

5.  Something about the GDR/ADR route of raising funds.  Ever heard of the Saumitra Chaudhury committee?

6.  Exim curbs on some dual use chemicals may be eased?  But the report was talking of imposing curbs!!!

7.  India and carbon credit trading.

8.  India ASEAN FTA talks appear to be inching closer to completion.

That's for today.
