Current affairs briefing for 7th June, 2007.

Hi friends,

Today is yet again one of those busy days when I couldn't utilize my lunch time for posting our notes.

Here I go:

I have updated the quiz page today well before 10 AM.  Next update will be between 6 AM and 10 AM tomorrow.

In today's briefing:

1.  Some more interesting stuff that I came across on the ongoing G8 summit.

2.  Were you ever read the riot act?  By anyone?  Not even your parents?  What does this phrase mean anyway?  It is time to learn some language skills.

3.  Centre looks serious on farm revival.

4.  We have heard about the Taj Corridor case, Mayawati et al.  But what exactly is the corridor about?

5.  Where is the "India Now" festival proposed to be held?  What for?

6.  Look at an economists definition of "cyclical overheating" of the economy.

7.  Budhia Singh in news again.  Can you remember why this boy is a prodigy in the first place?

8.  Dollar trading on Indian bourses to be allowed.  What does this imply?

9.  Why is raising sovereign bonds overseas a bad idea?

And a few more snippets worth our attention.

That's all for today.  Happy reading.

Ramakrishna
