[Indian Current Affairs:826] Current affairs briefing for June 13th, 2009

Hi friends,

In today's briefing:

1.  Our country's politicians (at least some of them) are coming of age -- in terms of being educated.

2.  Economy seems to be reviving.  What makes us believe so?

3.  Hindalco breaches covenants with banks -- not on its own; but because of market conditions.  So what is a covenant and what is a 'waiver fee'?

4.  What is the case for inclusion of services in the computation of inflation numbers?

5.  How does our country's consumer market beat that of China?

6.  Language lessons: buffeted, candour, conurbation, maelstrom.

Oh; yeah before we forget.  We got a thorough drubbing from West Indies in the T20 match.  Hope you all know that.  Let's wish our team all the best for the remaining matches.

That's it for today.  Happy reading.
