Current affairs briefing for 27th June, 2008

Hi friends,

Here is our link for today:

http://indiancurrentaffairs.blogspot.com/2008/06/27062008.html

In today's briefing:

1.  What is a bank's PLR?  What is the current PLR of most banks in India?  How many loans are given by banks at this rate?

2.  What are our top companies by sales and profits?  Look at the figure.

3.  An excellent explanation about how futures trading in crude is contributing to the price rise.

4.  Subprime losses are only mounting; but they don't make headlines anymore.

5.  How much do you think our Railways spends on fuel per annum?  Any guess?

6.  It is sports time.  EURO 2008 and Wimbledon are taking our evening/night time.  Germany enters finals in Euro.  Sharapova crashes out of Wimbledon in second round as did our Sania Mirza.

That's it for today.  Happy reading.
